Overview of Responsibilities

The Unarmed Security Officer plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of designated locations. This position emphasizes vigilance and accurate reporting. Key responsibilities include monitoring activities, conducting foot and vehicular patrols, and responding to any suspicious behavior or incidents. The officer is also tasked with documenting occurrences through detailed reports and maintaining daily activity logs.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
  • Execute security protocols as outlined in the Post Order Manual and adhere to company policies.
  • Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas, both on foot and in vehicles, as necessary.
  • Identify and report potential security threats or unsafe conditions.
  • Perform site-specific duties which may encompass customer service, loss prevention, and various security roles.
  • Document incidents accurately and comprehensively, ensuring all unusual activities are recorded.
  • Familiarize oneself with site-specific policies and execute emergency response procedures when required.
  • Maintain compliance with company standards, including attendance and grooming policies.
  • Participate in all mandatory training and orientation programs.
  • Address incidents during shifts in accordance with established protocols, ensuring timely communication with relevant parties.
  • Support security, customer service, or operational functions as directed by supervisors.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Military experience or education in a security-related field is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in security, law enforcement, or customer service is desirable.
  • Possession of a valid state registration/permit/license is mandatory.
  • Ability to provide reliable transportation or access public transport to ensure punctuality.
  • Strong report writing skills are essential.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to manage interactions professionally.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients at all levels.
