Job Title: Logistics/Warehouse Coordinator

Key Responsibilities:
  • Receive and confirm finished product from production, ensuring accurate labeling.
  • Operate forklifts/pallet jacks to move product to designated holding areas until shipped.
  • Receive and sign for deliveries of packaging/bagging materials, chemicals, and other supplies, storing them in designated areas.
  • Assist with periodic inventory of stored products.
  • Perform basic maintenance and cleanup activities, including sweeping, floor cleaning, and equipment care, in accordance with company safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Prepare product for shipping, including recording lot numbers, completing documentation for export shipments, verifying counts, wrapping, and sorting items for shipping, restacking inventory, confirming Quality Control release, and loading product.
  • Responsible for inventory cycle counts.
  • Assist Finance with annual physical inventory.
  • Change bags in baghouses.
  • Assist with packaging as needed.
  • Operate company vehicles as required.
  • Ensure fundamental food safety and quality practices are maintained to achieve food safety and quality objectives and support ongoing improvements of food safety programs.
Requirements:
  • General knowledge of warehouse/shipping operations.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Sustained physical effort required to move throughout the warehouse, moving and restacking product and supplies.
  • Ability to accurately and legibly record various data for record-keeping purposes.
  • Ability to operate forklifts and/or pallet jacks.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Positive customer service attitude and professionalism.
  • Team-oriented and an effective team member.
  • Effective communication, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to drive a vehicle and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Basic math skills, including various calculations.
  • Knowledge and ability to implement all safety techniques and mandated sanitary rules and regulations in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Proliant Dairy Ingredients personnel, contractors, vendors, suppliers, and other business-related contacts.
  • Knowledge of organizational methods and the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Effective telephone skills.
  • Ability to operate all necessary plant and office equipment required to accomplish job duties, such as computers, office telephones, fax machines, etc.
  • Ability to work daily, weekends, and extended hours as necessary.
  • Willingness to assist in other work-related areas as needed.
  • Computer knowledge and proficiency in operating Windows software, such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and MAPICS systems.
  • Ability to distinguish if food safety violations or product quality issues occur and resolve immediately or, if unable to resolve immediately, contact plant management and/or the QC Supervisor.
Working Conditions and Exposures:

Working conditions vary, with the majority of job duties occurring in an indoor warehouse environment within a food processing plant. Exposure to different chemicals used during production and clean-up, high noise levels, moving machinery/equipment, climbing on heights, moving throughout the building to different processing areas, and wet floors.
