Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage food preparation for a specific area of the kitchen, ensuring consistency and quality in all dishes.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure efficient operation and adherence to established procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement new menu concepts and recipes, while maintaining existing food concepts and menus.
  • Assist in the achievement of budgetary objectives for the Food and Beverage Department, ensuring cost control and efficiency.
  • Process requisitions for supplies quickly and accurately, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing waste.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff in the proper preparation of menu items and operation of equipment, ensuring high-quality service and presentation.
  • Ensure proper receiving, storage, and rotation of food products, adhering to health department regulations and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Assist in the management of department members, including cooks, stewards, and other kitchen staff, ensuring effective communication and teamwork.
  • Incorporate safe work practices in job performance, adhering to health and safety regulations and maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree (AA) or two to three years of related experience and/or training.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation Training.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
