Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Oncology Research Nurse Navigator to join our team at Cooper University Health Care. The successful candidate will be responsible for working with our research team to identify clinical trials that would be beneficial to our patient population.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work with research team to identify clinical trials that would be beneficial to the patient population.
  • Collaborate with other nurse navigators to facilitate and assess possible patients for clinical trials, referring eligible patients to the Research Department.
  • Review physician schedules and patient charts to pre-screen inclusion criteria.
  • Promote research-based therapies and education to patients.
  • Work with clinical research coordinators to develop operational flow plans for each active research protocol.
  • Educate, support, and assist patients and their families, serving as a link to their doctors and supportive services before, during, and after their participation in a research study.
  • Facilitate and implement multidisciplinary cancer care for new research patients within the Cooper Cancer Institute.
  • Serve as a liaison between new patients, physicians, and diagnostic services to expedite the start of participation in a research protocol.
  • Provide emotional and informational support to patients and families, identifying areas where they lack knowledge and providing supportive information and teaching.
  • Complete all related documentation in a timely manner and provide communication throughout the oncology research team.
  • Utilize available databases and files in a manner that is understandable and accessible to other members of the team.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with oncology experience preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of research experience preferred.
  • Program development experience preferred.
Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
