Dispensing Nurse Opportunity with BAART Programs

We are seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team as a Dispensing Nurse. This role plays a crucial part of the treatment team, working in partnership with Physicians and Nursing Supervisors to dispense prescribed medications.
About the RoleThe Dispensing Nurse will be responsible for administering daily medication to patients in accordance with program policy and medical protocols. This includes using automated dispensing systems, calibrating pumps, and maintaining dispensing equipment.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Producing and maintaining accurate records and reports as required by Company protocol, Federal, and State Regulations;
- Ensuring compliance with security standards for the distribution and storage of controlled substances as set forth in the Code of Federal regulations;
- Ordering, receiving, and stocking medication in accordance with DEA and State regulations (if granted Power of Attorney);
- Providing daily assessments of patients;
- Assisting Nursing Supervisors to orient new nursing staff.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, and have a positive attitude towards individuals in substance abuse treatment.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you will need:
- A current and good-standing Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the State of California. In CA only, a CA license as a Psychiatric Technician may be substituted for nursing licensure. Current CPR certification is also required;
- EMR and computer proficiency desired;
- Experience in chemical dependency preferred;
- Satisfactory drug screen and criminal background check.
This role offers a competitive salary range of $30-$35 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
