About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solid Waste Engineer/Project Manager to join our team at Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC). As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the design, analysis, permitting, and preparation of drawings and technical specifications for solid waste disposal facilities, including coal combustion residual (CCR) facilities, and industrial facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and analysis of solid waste disposal facilities, including CCR facilities and industrial facilities
  • Permitting and preparation of drawings and technical specifications for solid waste disposal facilities
  • Project management and coordination with clients, contractors, and local government officials
  • Leadership and mentoring of younger staff members
  • Review and delivery of projects
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in the design, permitting, document preparation, and CQA of waste disposal facilities
  • Ability to coordinate the regulatory agency review process
  • B.S. in Civil, Geotechnical, or Environmental Engineering (M.S. a plus)
  • Professional Engineering (P.E.) Licensure with the ability to secure a P.E. in the State of Tennessee
  • Understanding of business principles of consulting projects and related project delivery tools
  • Strong project management skills and leadership ability
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated report and proposal writing skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Autodesk Civil 3D
