Crop Claims Adjuster

At GAIC, we're seeking a skilled Crop Claims Adjuster to join our team on a seasonal basis.
About the RoleThis position will involve working as an independent contractor, conducting field inspections and reviews of crop insurance claims in various stages of growth. You'll be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of claims, adhering to company policies and procedures, and maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough investigations of crop damage and losses, gathering necessary information and documentation to support claim determinations.
- Review and analyze policy coverage and liability, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Secure and evaluate relevant data, including reports, policies, appraisals, releases, statements, records, or other documents, to inform claim decisions.
- Determine potential payouts and negotiate settlements within prescribed limits, submitting recommendations to supervisors as needed.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of claims files, including correspondence, documentation, and outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve claims disputes and ensure efficient claim resolution.
- Must have a strong understanding of crop insurance principles and practices, including major crops and policy types.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to convey complex information to clients and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing crop insurance, including USDA RMA guidelines.
- Prolonged walking and standing required, with frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling of objects up to 50 lbs.
- Climbing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and crawling may be required in certain situations.
- Ability to conduct visual inspections and work outdoors in inclement weather conditions.
- Frequent travel may be required, with occasional need to operate a motor vehicle.
We offer competitive pay rates, ranging from $$58,400 to $$75,600 annually, depending on experience and location. Additionally, full-time and part-time benefit-eligible employees enjoy comprehensive benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
