Job Overview

The Maintenance Technician II - Journeyman Electrician is a key member of our facilities team, responsible for performing routine and extensive preventative maintenance and repair procedures on buildings, electrical, mechanical equipment, and utility systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform inspections and maintenance on electrical systems to ensure safety and functionality
  • Adhere to all applicable requirements, including safety standards and local codes
  • Discuss electrical system malfunctions with users to isolate problems or to verify that malfunctions have been corrected
  • Adjust system controls to settings recommended by the manufacturer to balance system performance
  • Install, repair, and service electrical systems, providing assistance during emergencies
  • Recommend, develop, and perform preventive and general maintenance procedures
  • Document actions, testing results, observations, final diagnosis of the situation, and steps taken to resolve issues
  • Obtain required permits, equipment, tools, and materials for projects
  • Layout and connect electrical wiring between controls and equipment according to wiring diagrams
  • Record responses and reports all faults, deficiencies in Hotsos, and other unusual occurrences
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six months from start date as a condition of continued employment
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
  • Must have and maintain a valid state-issued operator driver's license
  • Completed electrician apprenticeship
  • Minimum four years of experience in the construction industry
  • Proficiency with the National Electrical Code and local codes
  • Must have completed at least two (2) maintenance certificates such as City/County certified Journeymen electrician
Preferred Qualifications
  • Refrigeration license type II, controls, NFPA96, Level I Locksmith Certification
  • Good hearing and eyesight
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English
  • Valid and current State Driver's License and an insurable driving record for purposes of driving company vehicles as required
  • Willing to work odd and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Occupational License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) pursuant to the Illinois Gaming Act and remain in good standing with the Illinois Gaming Board as a requirement for this position
