Job Description

Job Title: Distinguished Educator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Social Studies Teacher to join our team at Berrien County Schools Consortium. As a key member of our educational community, you will be responsible for creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement engaging lesson plans that align with Michigan and C3 and Common Core Standards, ensuring students meet or exceed academic expectations.
  • Classroom Management: Establish a well-organized and student-centered classroom environment that promotes active learning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Develop and administer assessments to measure student progress, identify areas for improvement, and inform instructional decisions.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Maintain open and regular communication with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative and supportive learning community.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in education, participate in professional learning communities, and engage in ongoing professional development to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Education from an accredited college or university.
  • Certification: Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate, preferred endorsement in Social Studies (RX), but will also consider CC, CL, and CX.

  • Competitive Salary: Salary commensurate with experience according to the BDEA salary schedule, with a minimum starting salary of $43,500 for BA and $46,000 for MA.
