Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Automotive Technician to join our team at Tom's Automotive Service. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicles, from domestic to European and Asian models.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair complex vehicle issues, including air conditioning, brakes, cooling systems, electrical systems, engine repair, maintenance, steering and suspension, pre-purchase inspections, and transmission and clutch systems.
  • Road test all repairs to ensure they are completed correctly the first time.
  • Purchase and maintain necessary tools to perform assigned tasks.
  • Provide accurate and detailed descriptions of diagnosis, repair, and maintenance performed on the back of the workshop copy of the repair order.
  • Punch and flag separate times for all operations, including diagnosis.
  • Notify management of any additional repairs necessary or conditions that require special explanation to the customer.
  • Park and lock all vehicles in an orderly fashion in designated areas.
  • Check all vehicles before driving for expired licenses and advise management if necessary.
  • Take all possible precautions to ensure the safety and health of yourself and others.
  • Perform all maintenance and repair with speed and thoroughness.
  • Report tools, equipment, and facilities in need of repair.
  • Maintain cleanliness of all vehicles assigned for repair.
  • Notify management if parts need to be ordered or delays are expected.
  • Assist in expediting the ordering of parts.
  • Perform work assignments in accordance with time schedules as assigned by the Service Advisor.
  • Request work assignment if out of work or temporarily unable to complete a job.
Requirements
  • 4 years' experience as an Automotive Technician preferred.
  • ASE Certified.
  • Current WA state driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Team player with strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Generally neat appearance.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, as well as with co-workers and management.
  • Fluent in English; able to read and write legibly in English.
  • Bondable.
  • Possesses good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to read schematics.
  • Possess the necessary tools to perform the required tasks.
  • Possess First Aid and CPR training certifications.
  • Dependable.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of diagnostics and repair.
