About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Fire Alarm Installation Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls International. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for assisting in the installation of electronic systems, including start-up through final testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation of electronic systems, including start-up through final testing.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions, and read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.
  • Carry/move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Perform work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet or more.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Pick up and properly dispose of all trash associated with SimplexGrinnell's work.
  • Wear appropriate safety equipment as required, including but not limited to hard hats and work boots.
  • May be required to work alternate shifts or weekends to meet customer installation requirements.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
  • Daily submission of required paperwork.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions, and read and understand complex construction blueprints, diagrams, and specifications used in installation activities.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen and background check.
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.
  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Demonstrate a high level of customer service.
  • Strong organizational skills, positive attitude, and ability to learn quickly.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends to meet customer requirements.
  • Overtime/Overnight stay may be required during busy project schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in an electrical trade preferred.
  • Construction experience preferred.
  • Low-voltage experience is a plus.
  • 2 years of Fire Alarm and/or Security System experience.
