We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team at DaVita. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for providing center-level accounting support to ensure department goals and objectives are achieved.
Key Responsibilities- Monthly center-level review to ensure accurate reporting of all revenue and treatment accounts.
- Monthly review and reconciliation of assigned accounts receivable GL balances.
- Review patient account transactions prepared in Reimbursement Operations for accuracy and completeness.
- Other GL functions such as journal entry preparation for accruals and adjustments, account analysis, etc.
- Prepare, develop, and modify selected recurring and ad-hoc financial schedules and related notes for management reporting.
- Create detailed reports to support performance and strategic business initiatives.
- Provide reporting to identify and interpret revenue trends and explain fluctuations.
- Prepare communications such as memos, charts, graphs, and process documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of annual and/or interim Medicare cost reports.
- Assist and perform cost report audits, as well as prepare and support any appeals, correspond, and deal effectively with fiscal intermediaries, and other 3rd party agencies to resolve simple disputes, including filing issues, denials, penalty assessments, withholds, etc.
- Interact with other departments and explain and resolve cost reporting issues.
- Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) with an emphasis in Business, Accounting, or Finance, or 1-2 years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience in an accounting or healthcare organization.
- Intermediate computer skills and proficiency with MS Office applications, and ability to learn new internal systems and tools.
- Experience with ERP software preferred.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with ability to probe, question, and listen attentively.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of accounting functions.
- Minimum two years of accounting experience.
