Role Overview: Machinist

As a Machinist at SDC, you will be a meticulous professional tasked with the production of custom components in accordance with engineering directives, utilizing and maintaining both lathe and milling equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup and operate manual Knee Mills, Lathes, and Grinders with precision.
  • Produce custom components based on detailed engineering specifications and 3D models.
  • Ensure a safe and organized work environment.
  • Possess knowledge of the tools, techniques, and equipment relevant to the machinist profession.
  • Understand the machining characteristics, properties, and applications of various materials including carbon steel, tool steels, stainless steels, aluminum, and plastics.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models effectively.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with project teams as necessary.
  • Lift and handle objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Operate lift trucks and overhead cranes safely.
  • Experience with Haas Automation equipment is advantageous.
  • Be available for overtime work as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in machining.
  • Experience in low volume manufacturing processes.
  • Familiarity with Mastercam software is a plus.

Compensation: $27-$32 per hour
