Role Overview: As a Machinist at SDC, you will be a meticulous professional tasked with producing custom components in accordance with precise engineering specifications. This involves the operation and upkeep of lathe and milling machines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Setup and operate manual Knee Mills, Lathes, and Grinders.
  • Manufacture tailored parts based on detailed engineering blueprints and 3D models.
  • Ensure a safe and organized work environment.
  • Possess knowledge of the techniques, tools, and equipment relevant to the machinist profession.
  • Understand the machining characteristics, properties, and applications of various materials including carbon steel, tool steels, stainless steels, aluminum, and plastics.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models effectively.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with project teams.
  • Capable of lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Operate lift trucks and overhead cranes as required.
  • Experience with Haas Automation equipment is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in machining.
  • Experience in low volume manufacturing machining.
  • Familiarity with Mastercam software programming is a plus.

Compensation: $27-$32 per hour
