Position Overview

The Production Stream Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing the seamless operation of production, inventory management, logistics, and personnel within the designated production stream. This position is tasked with guiding both manufacturing and warehouse teams to uphold a secure and efficient workflow. Key responsibilities include enhancing processes, optimizing space, ensuring inventory precision, and managing personnel, all while adhering to Safety, Quality, cGMP, GDP, FDA, and NSF Standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promotes a culture of safety and product excellence.
  • Directs all manufacturing and warehouse operations for the assigned production stream.
  • Manages the workforce in manufacturing and warehouse settings for the designated stream.
  • Oversees comprehensive employee training programs, ensuring timely updates and documentation.
  • Assesses and allocates machine and personnel resources to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Plans and coordinates daily operations, including receiving, picking, shipping, returns, cycle counts, and adherence to production schedules.
  • Conducts regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks to maintain inventory accuracy and promptly address discrepancies.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams such as planning, procurement, quality assurance, and distribution to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Implements and enforces health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Identifies and acts on opportunities for process enhancement and cost efficiency.
  • Utilizes software tools like Sage and NetSuite for inventory tracking, report generation, and data analysis.
  • Maintains strong relationships with suppliers, carriers, and external partners to facilitate smooth logistics operations.
  • Stays informed on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in manufacturing and warehouse management.
  • Adheres to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and safety regulations.
  • Encourages a culture of continuous improvement within the assigned production stream.
  • Effectively communicates issues and challenges to senior management.
  • Responsible for staff performance management and implementing disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Performs additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervisory role within manufacturing and/or logistics, or 2 years in a management capacity.
  • 5 years' experience in the nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, food, or medical device sectors.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including FIFO, FEFO, cycle counting, and inventory control methodologies.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, Continuous Improvement strategies, and KPI Management.
Competencies
  • Proficient in warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management software such as Sage and NetSuite.
  • In-depth knowledge of manufacturing concepts, processes, and best practices.
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively guide and motivate a diverse team.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and make informed decisions.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other relevant software applications.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to manufacturing and warehouse environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, facilitating effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
