Job Summary

The Certified Medication Aide plays a vital role in ensuring the health and well-being of our residents by coordinating and administering medication in a safe and effective manner. This position requires strong communication and leadership skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and administers medication to residents in accordance with physician orders and facility policies
  • Supervises and directs junior staff members and CNAs to ensure high-quality care
  • Documents resident conditions and nursing needs accurately and promptly
  • Assists physicians with special tests and procedures within the scope of state specified Nursing Practice Act
  • Ensures supplies are utilized economically and equipment is clean and maintained in a safe manner
  • Reports and records pertinent observations and reactions regarding residents
Requirements
  • Valid Medication Technician certification in the state employed
  • One year experience in nursing preferred
  • Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
