Maintenance Technician II

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Specialist II to join our team at the Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine, journey-level work in one or more building maintenance and construction trades, including carpentry, masonry, painting, and more.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform routine maintenance and repairs to facility buildings and residential homes, including inspections, adjustments, installations, and maintenance of adaptive equipment, wheelchair ramps, safety equipment, doors, windows, and more.
- Operate motorized equipment and use hand tools, power tools, and test equipment as necessary to perform repairs and inspections.
- Accurately process and maintain records on work orders, projects, and material requisitions.
- May train others on proper procedures and methods for repairs or inspections.
- May be required to perform other tasks, including operation of a motor vehicle, making deliveries, picking up supplies, and other incidental tasks.
- Knowledge of building maintenance, plumbing, HVAC, sanitation, refrigeration, and/or electrical systems.
- Knowledge of industrial safety, fire, and safety regulations.
- Ability to perform maintenance, follow instructions, and interpret drawings, schematics, or sketches.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally or in writing with other members of the maintenance/facility team.
