Job Summary

The New York State Education Department's Office of Education Policy is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Facility Operations Assistant 1 to join their team at the New York State School for the Deaf.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the school's grounds, including lawns, athletic fields, shrubs, flowerbeds, and trees.
  • Perform minor maintenance on equipment used for facility events.
  • Assist journey-level trades personnel with various tasks.
  • Work independently on assigned tasks, including minor plumbing, heating, electrical, and carpentry projects.
  • Maintain inventories and provide requests for materials and equipment in a timely manner.
  • Set up and take down equipment for facility events as needed.
Requirements
  • Must be physically able to perform the tasks of the position, including medium to heavy lifting.
  • Must be able to understand and carry out written or oral instructions.
  • Must possess a valid New York State driver's license.
Benefits
