Location: Charlotte, North Carolina

Compensation: Competitive hourly rate

Position Summary:

  • Conduct detailed microscopic examinations for cytogenetic evaluations on various biological samples.
  • Assess chromosomal structures for prenatal assessments and genetic anomalies.
  • Oversee the processes of cell harvesting, image evaluation, and result documentation.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in operating and maintaining laboratory equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Commitment to adhering to laboratory safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and stain slides for microscopic analysis.
  • Handle specimen preparation and cell culture procedures.
  • Inspect chromosomes for any irregularities.
  • Document and report any abnormal findings.
  • Input specimen information into laboratory systems.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant biological science field.
  • CG(ASCP) certification or eligibility required.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in cytogenetics.
