Position Overview
The Lead Analyst for Global Security Insights at Edjuster will play a pivotal role within our global Information Security and Risk Management (ISRM) team, focusing on providing actionable intelligence through security data analytics platforms. This individual will serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for data analytics tools such as Splunk Cloud, overseeing the architecture, operation, and support of data analytics and associated technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, engineer, implement, and manage SIEM solutions in a highly available, redundant, and distributed computing environment.
- Conduct deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of SIEM/Splunk components across various platforms, both on-premises and in cloud environments.
- Enhance the performance and operation of Splunk Indexers, Search Heads, Forwarders, and other SIEM-related technologies utilized for Cyber Defense.
- Integrate data feeds (logs) into SIEM/Splunk from both on-premises and cloud-based devices and applications.
- Create and refine SIEM content while supporting other content developers with your expertise in SPL.
- Support and improve advanced machine-learning-based security analytics applications deployed on Splunk Enterprise Security.
- Monitor internal Splunk logs to identify and address potential performance issues.
- Automate routine processes and workflows using scripts and programming skills.
- Develop technical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and design documents related to system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of professional experience in a relevant field.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of IT experience in a technical role as an engineer, architect, or system administrator within a large-scale, mission-critical enterprise environment.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with the installation, configuration, and administration of SIEM tools.
- Certification as a Splunk Power User, Administrator, Architect, or Architect II.
- CISSP or GIAC certifications are preferred.
- Proficiency in Linux platforms, particularly with shell scripting (Red Hat and Bash preferred).
- Experience in deploying, configuring, and maintaining Splunk at scale.
- Ability to write complex SPL queries for dashboards, reports, and applications.
- Experience in developing custom Splunk applications for end users.
- Proficiency in automating repetitive tasks using scripting languages.
- Familiarity with additional logging/data pipeline technologies such as ELK, LogStash, Spark, Kafka, Fluentd, AWS Kinesis, etc.
- Experience in deploying and developing content for Splunk Enterprise Security.
- Understanding of network infrastructure components (switches, routers, firewalls, proxies, load balancers, etc.).
- Strong teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage all aspects of large-scale projects, including planning, prioritizing, executing, delivering, and sustaining.
- Experience working in an Agile environment using Scrum or Kanban methodologies.
Preferred Skills
- Professional experience in software development using languages such as C#, Java, Python, or similar.
- Experience in developing for and deploying to Public Cloud environments, including AWS and Azure; certification is a plus.
- Interest in exploring advanced data analytics platforms, such as Azure Sentinel.
- Familiarity with machine learning concepts and experience with relevant platforms or toolkits.
