Job Title: Director, Engineering - Innovation

KPMG is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Engineering - Innovation to join our Digital Nexus Technology organization. This is a remote work opportunity.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy for the Foundational Model Operations Group, aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the team, inspiring and motivating them to achieve operational excellence in generative AI model development and management.
  • Collaborate with senior executives and key stakeholders to align model operations with business goals, identify opportunities for improvement, and drive organizational change where necessary.
  • Oversee the development and deployment of generative AI models, ensuring adherence to best practices, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with research and engineering teams to facilitate the seamless integration of models into production systems.
  • Establish and maintain processes for monitoring and evaluating model performance, accuracy, and compliance throughout the model lifecycle.
  • Implement robust governance mechanisms to manage version control, documentation, and model retraining to ensure optimal performance and mitigate risks.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of data scientists, engineers, and operations specialists, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum ten years of recent experience in data science, machine learning, or AI-related roles, with at least five years in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong expertise in generative AI models, deep learning frameworks, and model deployment in production environments.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing large-scale model operations or data science teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of model governance, monitoring, and evaluation practices, as well as regulatory considerations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse teams and senior executives.
