Responsibilities
- Triage animals as they arrive at the clinic, providing a safe and comfortable environment for them to receive care.
- Conduct thorough interviews with pet owners to obtain a comprehensive patient history, ensuring accurate and effective treatment.
- Take vital signs and collect blood samples, utilizing your knowledge of animal care and handling to ensure the highest level of care.
- Assist with surgeries and closely monitor animals after surgery, providing a safe and supportive environment for their recovery.
- Administer medications and provide at-home dosage instructions for clients, ensuring they understand the importance of follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, utilizing your organizational skills to ensure seamless communication between staff members.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Veterinary Technician or in a similar role, with a proven track record of providing exceptional animal care.
- Knowledge of animal behavior, physiology, and psychology, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a fast-paced clinical environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with pet owners, veterinarians, and other staff members.
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a busy environment, prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to ensure seamless patient care.
- Patience and a genuine love for animals, with a commitment to providing compassionate and empathetic care.
