Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Safety and Risk Management Intern to join our team. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and implementation of safety programs, conducting safety inspections and audits, and providing training to employees on safety protocols and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety programs, policies, and procedures
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
  • Provide training to employees on safety protocols and procedures, including lockout/tagout, confined spaces, fall protection, and other relevant topics
  • Assist in the investigation of accidents and near-misses to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Document and track safety metrics and trends to inform safety program development and improvement
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of the business
Requirements
  • Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Occupational Safety or a related field with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Enrollment in a four-year degree program in Occupational Safety with multiple courses completed toward the major or a related field
  • Training in safety protocols and procedures, including OSHA standards and regulations
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures
  • Knowledge of environmental management systems and practices
