CTI, Inc. is seeking Class A HAZMAT CDL Drivers for our operations.

This role involves loading, transporting, and delivering hazardous materials, including sulfuric acid and ammonium nitrate, using pneumatic and tanker trailers to various sites. Drivers typically return home daily and operate on local and regional routes.

Responsibilities include conducting thorough pre-and post-trip inspections. The position may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lifting up to 70 pounds, climbing, and working at elevated heights.

Work Schedule: We operate 24/7/365, with schedules varying based on business requirements. Load assignments are made according to available hours of service. Equipment includes dedicated tractors and shared trailers, with slip-seating expected.

Driver Requirements:

  • Valid Class A CDL.
  • HAZMAT & Tank endorsements required; Double/Triple endorsements preferred.
  • Minimum age of 23 years.
  • At least 1 year of experience operating a combination vehicle; less experience may be considered with an extended training period.
  • Valid DOT Physical.
  • No more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years.
  • HAZMAT Drivers must be clean-shaven daily to wear a respirator for specific tasks.
  • Ability to pass a satisfactory road test.
  • Ability to pass a controlled substance test prior to employment.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Physical Requirements:

  • Must be qualified to operate a combination vehicle in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
  • Ability to operate a manual 10-speed configuration.
  • Must be insurable under the company's vehicle insurance policy.
  • Understand and comply with organizational policies and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Availability for work according to FMCSA's hours of service regulations.
  • Ability to work varying hours and schedules, including occasional overnight stays with short notice.
  • Proficient in handling stressful situations and making quick decisions.
  • Ability to crawl to access equipment on the trailer.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, or moving up to 70 pounds.
  • Requires frequent climbing of stairs and/or ladders, working at heights of 14 feet.
  • Ability to drive and remain alert for extended periods.
