CTI, Inc. is seeking Class A HAZMAT CDL Drivers for our operations.

This role involves loading, transporting, and delivering hazardous materials, including sulfuric acid and ammonium nitrate, using pneumatic and tanker trailers to various locations. Drivers typically return home daily and operate on local and regional routes.

Responsibilities include conducting thorough pre-and post-trip inspections. This position may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), lifting heavy items (up to 70 pounds), climbing, and working at elevated heights.

Our operations run 24/7/365, and work schedules may vary based on business requirements. Load assignments are determined by available hours of service. Tractors are dedicated, while trailers are shared, and slip-seating is a common practice.

Driver Requirements:
  • Valid Class A CDL.
  • HAZMAT & Tank endorsements are required; Double/Triple endorsements are preferred.
  • Minimum age of 23 years.
  • At least 1 year of experience operating a combination vehicle; less experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis and could require additional training.
  • Valid DOT Physical.
  • No more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years.
  • HAZMAT Drivers must be clean-shaven daily to wear a respirator for specific tasks.
  • Ability to pass a satisfactory road test.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment controlled substance test.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Physical Requirements:
  • Must be qualified to operate a combination vehicle in compliance with FMCSA regulations.
  • Ability to operate a manual 10-speed configuration.
  • Must be insurable under the company's vehicle insurance policy.
  • Understanding and compliance with organizational policies and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Availability for work when hours are available, adhering to FMCSA's hours of service regulations.
  • Ability to work varying hours and schedules; occasional overnight stays may be required with short notice.
  • Proficient in performing tasks in rapid succession, handling stressful situations, making quick decisions, and reacting appropriately.
  • Ability to crawl on hands and knees to access trailer hatches.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing, and/or moving up to 70 pounds.
  • Frequent climbing of stairs and/or ladders, working at heights of 14 feet or more.
  • Capability to sit, drive, shift gears, and maintain alertness for extended periods.
