About the Position

We are seeking candidates for full or part-time faculty positions at the VACCHCS in Fresno. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing psychiatric care to designated patients, conducting psychiatric examinations and treatment, and coordinating medical care with patients' primary care providers.

Responsibilities

  • Primary provider of psychiatric care for designated patients
  • Provide psychiatric examination and treatment and coordination of medical care with patient's primary care provider
  • Responsible for emergent and/or triage functions for walk-in patients
  • Coordinating consultations and referrals of patients to other medical and/or mental health services
  • Coordinating preventive health care needs according to established guidelines and sound psychiatric practice
  • Reviewing of patient care and treatment decisions

Requirements

  • Candidates must be either board certified or eligible in Psychiatry (US Boards) by the date of hire
  • Candidates must be California medical licensed or eligible to obtain a California medical license
  • Candidates must have completed Psychiatry residency training

About the Department

The VACCHCS is a core training site for the UCSF Fresno Residency training program in numerous specialties and fellowships, including psychiatry. With a faculty appointment, opportunities for resident supervision, teaching, and clinical research will be available and encouraged.
