Position Overview:
As a Validation Engineer with a focus on DDR4 and DDR5 memory systems, you will play a crucial role in validating the reliability, performance, and compatibility of cutting-edge memory components and technologies. You will collaborate with various teams to formulate and implement validation strategies, develop firmware solutions, and execute margining algorithms to ensure that memory systems adhere to the highest quality benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Validation: Formulate and execute validation strategies and testing protocols for DDR4 and DDR5 memory systems, ensuring adherence to industry standards. Assess memory component functionality, compatibility, and performance.
- Interconnect: Analyze memory system equalization methodologies and transmission line characteristics to enhance signal integrity and data transfer efficiency.
- Firmware and BIOS Development: Design firmware solutions to improve memory system functionalities and compatibility.
- Margining Algorithms: Create and apply margining algorithms to guarantee robust performance under diverse operating conditions.
- Scripting and Programming: Employ Python and C++ for test automation, firmware development, and data analysis to optimize validation workflows.
- Test Development: Partner with design and architecture teams to conceive and implement innovative tests that challenge memory systems to their limits.
- Data Analysis: Examine validation outcomes to identify and document issues, anomalies, and potential enhancements in memory system performance.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work alongside hardware and software teams to troubleshoot and resolve validation and performance challenges, ensuring product readiness for market introduction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
- Over 5 years of relevant professional experience, with a strong background in DDR4 and DDR5 memory system validation.
- Familiarity with signal integrity and equalization techniques.
- Understanding of DDR Training algorithms.
- Proficient in Python and C++ for test automation, firmware development, and data analysis.
- Solid grasp of memory system architecture and industry standards.
- Experience with memory controllers, firmware, and BIOS development is highly desirable.
