Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatrist to lead our Adult Unit as the Inpatient BHU Medical Director.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Quality Initiatives: Provide strategic leadership and direction to ensure the highest quality of care for our patients.
  • Representation and Collaboration: Represent adult psychiatry in hospital meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate care.
  • Program Development and Expansion: Participate in the development and expansion of the GME Program, overseeing psychiatry residents and fellows.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Provider Oversight: Oversee psychiatry providers to meet volume and quality expectations.
  • Recruitment and Performance Management: Participate in the recruitment, orientation, and performance management of providers.
  • Clinical Escalation and Documentation: Be available for clinical escalation during emergencies and conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnosing patients, and prescribing medications.
  • Patient Progress and Treatment Plans: Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Crisis Intervention and Referrals: Provide crisis intervention and complete clinical documentation, as well as provide referrals and education to patients and families.
  • Outpatient Services: Offer outpatient psychiatric services virtually when necessary.
Requirements
  • Licensure and Certification: Maryland licensure or willingness to become licensed, and board certification or eligibility.
  • Geographic Flexibility: Preferred willingness to become licensed in other geographies.
