This dual-function position merges conventional accounting responsibilities with sophisticated financial analysis to bolster financial precision, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and prepare financial documentation, including general ledger entries, financial statements, and account reconciliations.
  • Conduct thorough financial assessments, developing models to guide business decisions and predict future financial outcomes.
  • Manage the monthly accrual process for expenses, ensuring accurate recording and allocation to the relevant projects and departments.
  • Generate periodic cost reconciliation reports, monitoring variables such as fluctuating labor and supply expenses.
  • Examine business and financial data, delivering detailed reports on expenditures, project cost breakdowns, forecasts of remaining costs, and opportunities for enhanced efficiency.
  • Assist in tax return preparation, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Compile and analyze information on processes, organizational structure, technology, policies, and procedures, identifying potential enhancements to existing systems.
  • Support audit preparations, including those related to financial and regulatory agencies.
  • Facilitate the implementation and post-implementation processes of accounts payable automation.
  • Collaborate across departments to support accounts payable and receivable, identifying discrepancies and reconciling accounts.
  • Oversee filings for state and local sales tax agencies and assist in integrating compliance software.
  • Manage fixed assets, including evaluating capital expenditures and overseeing depreciation management.
  • Review and analyze proposals related to financial accounting methods, policies, and procedures, recommending improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.
  • Understanding of and adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Proficiency in preparing accurate tax documentation.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, along with accounting software.
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to develop financial models and conduct detailed analyses.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of combined experience in accounting and financial analysis.
  • Working knowledge of tax regulations and GAAP.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
