Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Supervision: Direct and coordinate the activities of the rigging and operator crew to ensure safe and efficient completion of tasks.
  • Operational Oversight: Supervise the operation of crawler cranes, cherry pickers, forklifts, barge cranes, gantry cranes, and other designated equipment.
  • Project Planning: Develop, review, and maintain construction plans, schedules, budgets, and other essential records to ensure successful project execution.
  • Resource Management: Ensure that all necessary materials and labor resources are available to complete tasks on time and within budget.
  • Quality Control: Monitor and ensure that all work is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Training and Development: Train and motivate the workforce to achieve high levels of productivity and quality.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with other members of the production management team to coordinate craft efforts and ensure successful project execution.

Requirements:

  • Experience: At least seven (7) years of shipbuilding or five (5) years of continuous company experience in a similar position is preferred.
  • Certifications: NCCCO or Southern Crane certifications are preferred.
  • Skills: Knowledge of operating crawler cranes, cherry pickers, forklifts, barge cranes, gantry cranes, or any designated piece of equipment; in-depth knowledge of craft-specific processes and techniques; well-organized supervisor with directly applicable experience in resource planning and scheduling.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical Demands: Ability to work in confined/enclosed spaces; ability to work/climb at elevations greater than 5 feet; ability to wear/work with a respirator when applicable.

Education:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent: Required.

  • English: Required.
