Job Title: Civil Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC). As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, planning, and constructing various infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of drawings, specifications, and calculations prepared by private architectural and engineering firms.
  • Administer designs, design management, and coordination efforts with other engineers and architects on multi-discipline projects.
  • Plan and lead conferences and on-site design charrettes to determine functional requirements and develop concept designs for assigned projects.
  • Develop complex designs and analyses using advanced civil engineering software.
  • Conduct site investigation field trips to project sites to collect data and refine project scope.
  • Perform design analyses and calculations for civil projects and prepare detailed working drawings, comparative cost analysis, and specifications.
Qualifications:
  • Develop and produce civil engineering design packages, including budgeting, design drawings, plans, specifications, and design-build requests for proposals.
  • Review civil engineering design submissions to provide subject matter expert acceptance recommendations.
  • Provide civil engineering design consultation services using software and systems.
  • Provide guidance on construction code requirements.
Requirements:
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.
  • New employees must pass the E-Verify employment verification check.
  • Must obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance.
  • Must complete training and obtain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
  • Must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods.
