Maintenance Technician II

The Facilities and Construction Maintenance Technician II - Special Systems is responsible for maintaining facilities in safe operating condition, addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns, and assisting Maintenance Technicians III's and IV's in various general maintenance assignments.
Key Responsibilities- Arranges furniture and equipment for special events
- Assists Maintenance Technicians III's and IV's in completing projects
- Attends meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars
- Builds items for modifying and/or adapting facilities
- Coordinates with assigned lead and/or supervisor and other trades
- Maintains records and ensures availability of tools and equipment
- Performs preventative maintenance on systems and general grounds keeping
- Repairs equipment, systems, and/or structural items
- Requests equipment and supplies
- Servicing locks and transporting tools, equipment, and supplies
Job related experience is required. A high school diploma or equivalent is also required.
The ideal candidate will have skills in operating equipment used in skilled trades, power and hand tools, adhering to safety practices, and handling hazardous materials.
The candidate will also need to have knowledge of standard methods, materials, and tools used in assigned skilled trade, safety practices and procedures, and ability to schedule activities, collate data, and use job-related equipment.
The candidate will also need to have the ability to work with others, work with data utilizing specific, defined processes, and operate equipment using standardized methods.
The candidate will also need to have the ability to work with a diversity of individuals, work with similar types of data, and utilize a variety of job-related equipment.
The candidate will also need to have the ability to adapt to changing work priorities, develop effective working relationships, display mechanical aptitude, work under time constraints, and maintain a good rapport with students, employees, and community.
Work EnvironmentThe job requires working under temperature extremes and under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.
The job requires 20% sitting, 30% walking, and 50% standing.
The job requires significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent climbing and balancing, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity.
ClearancesCriminal Background Clearance is required.
Online Driver Training Certification, Driver's License, and Evidence of Insurability are also required.
