Maintenance Technician II

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician II is a skilled trades professional responsible for maintaining facilities in a safe operating condition. This role involves addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns, assisting Maintenance Technicians III and IV in various general maintenance assignments, and ensuring that tools and materials are available at the job site.
Key Responsibilities:
- Arranges furniture and equipment for special events.
- Assists Maintenance Technicians III and IV in completing projects in a safe and efficient manner.
- Attends meetings, workshops, trainings, and seminars to convey and/or gather information required to perform functions.
- Builds items such as counters and temporary partitions to modify and/or adapt facilities to specific needs.
- Coordinates with assigned lead and/or supervisor and other trades to complete projects and work orders efficiently.
- Maintains records such as generator usage and filter replacement dates to provide up-to-date information and/or historical reference in accordance with established guidelines.
- Maintains vehicles, tools, and equipment to ensure availability in safe operating condition.
- Performs a variety of general maintenance activities to complete projects within established time frames.
- Performs preventative maintenance on systems such as lighting, heating and ventilating systems, alarms, plumbing, security, electrical panels, etc. to provide a safe and workable environment.
- Performs general grounds keeping activities such as mowing, lining athletic fields, spreading wood chips, etc. to maintain safe and attractive areas for assemblies, recreational activities, and/or athletics.
- Processes written materials such as work orders to document activities and/or convey information.
- Repairs a variety of equipment, systems, and/or structural items to ensure a safe working condition.
- Requests equipment and supplies to ensure availability of items required to complete necessary installation and/or repair.
- Servicing locks to maintain a safe and secure facility.
- Transports tools, equipment, and supplies to ensure availability of materials required at the job site.
Requirements:
- Job-related experience is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Online Driver Training Certification is required.
- Driver's License and Evidence of Insurability are required.
Working Environment:
The Maintenance Technician II works in a fast-paced environment with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness. The job requires significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, frequent climbing and balancing, significant stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity.
