Kean University is seeking a highly qualified Associate Dean to join our College of Liberal Arts. As a key member of our academic leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our institution.
Responsibilities- Assist the Dean in the general administration and daily operations of the college.
- Oversee operations and college management, including accreditation, assessment, compliance, and curriculum.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to enhance faculty instructional excellence and research/scholarly productivity.
- Manage personnel, budget, resources, and curriculum at or above the level of department chair.
- Collaborate with students, faculty, university administrators, alumni, and the community to promote faculty and student engagement and success.
- Lead in a fast-paced higher education environment and support effective change management.
- Doctorate degree or appropriate terminal degree.
- Minimum of four years of progressive experience in a higher education environment, preferably within Academic Affairs.
- Extensive full-time teaching experience.
- Demonstrated evidence of innovative leadership, management, and collaboration.
- Experience with self-study report preparation and accreditation site visits.
- Mentoring faculty in research, peer-reviewed publications, and grant management.
- Working in a collective bargaining unit environment.
- Significant involvement and leadership in college and university committees.
