Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in identifying and referring children with Speech Language Impairments. Conduct Speech Language evaluations.
  • Engage in comprehensive team meetings. Facilitate communication between the department and other relevant service providers.
  • Provide discharge liaison services to receiving educational institutions or treatment centers.
  • Compile a detailed speech language assessment report.
  • Offer recommendations for intervention strategies. Participate in eligibility meetings, presenting evaluation findings.
  • Advise and instruct educational staff and parents on the therapeutic management of students.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals, hospitals, and other healthcare providers regarding the needs of children with speech language impairments.
  • Maintain confidential documentation. Provide progress reports and prepare evaluations.
  • Deliver formal and informal training sessions to administrators, parents, and educators.
  • Travel to various locations to provide services.
  • Participate in necessary workshops and continuing education to uphold certification.
  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
Successful execution of this role necessitates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to address issues while providing information and technical support as needed. Compliance with safety protocols and policies is essential to minimize risks to staff and students. Adherence to professional dress codes, attendance policies, and other workplace standards is expected. Creativity, initiative, and effective problem-solving abilities are crucial for success in this position. Assist in managing the digital operations of the school district. Provide training and support to district personnel in utilizing administrative computer systems. Engage in tasks that ultimately benefit the educational program. An individual in this role will exercise discretion, creativity, and independent judgment due to the complexities of the position. There may be multiple approaches to resolving a challenge, allowing for flexibility in selecting the solution. This is not an exhaustive list, and reasonable accommodations will be made as necessary.
