Position Overview:

The Automotive Service Consultant plays a crucial role in managing service appointments and promoting additional services to our clientele. Acting as the primary customer relations representative, you will ensure a seamless service experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Welcome each customer courteously and inform them of wait times.
  • Engage with service customers to identify mechanical issues.
  • Secure customer approval for repairs, providing cost estimates and timelines.
  • Gather essential customer and vehicle information.
  • Maintain dealership standards for service orders.
  • Conduct test drives with customers to clarify concerns.
  • Schedule service appointments using approved dealership protocols.
  • Advise customers on vehicle maintenance in line with manufacturer specifications.
  • Communicate the necessity for additional services when required, detailing costs and timeframes.
  • Monitor the progress of service orders and update customers on any changes.
  • Handle inquiries regarding ongoing work and appointments efficiently.
  • Interpret warranty policies for customers.
  • Notify customers about parts orders and schedule installation appointments.
  • Assist the service manager as needed.
  • Exhibit behaviors that align with the company’s vision and values in all interactions.
  • Adhere to all company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Must meet the company’s employment criteria.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.
  • Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles.
  • Demonstrated customer service expertise.
  • Strong reading and comprehension skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Professional appearance is essential.

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to various weather conditions.
  • Capability to operate a vehicle.
  • Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and stooping.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
