About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced **Senior Test Engineering Manager** to join our team at Blue Origin. As a key member of our propulsion systems engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development and execution of test plans, ensuring the safe and efficient testing of our rocket engines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate the performance of our rocket engines
  • Lead a team of test engineers to ensure the safe and efficient testing of our rocket engines
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation to support test planning and execution
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers
Requirements
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in liquid rocket engine testing, requirements, and specification
  • Proven track record leading teams
  • Experience overseeing, guiding, and mentoring fellow engineers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Understanding of engines components such as turbopumps, combustion chambers, injectors, regulators, check valves, as well as electric, pneumatic and hydraulic valves, actuators and other fluid system components
Desired Qualifications
  • M.S. degree or higher
  • 5+ years of experience
  • Familiarity with rocket engine system operations, verification process and risk management
  • Experience with anomaly investigations
  • Knowledge of systems engineering practices
  • Experience in project planning and successful execution of projects to cost and schedule targets
