Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at Redwood Family Care Network. As a LVN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the coordination of home care services, ensuring the health and safety needs of residents are met. This includes administering medications, attending doctor appointments, and assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and meal preparation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications to individuals and verify the five rights for accuracy
  • Attend residents' doctor appointments and address any concerns or changes with the attending physician
  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including bathing, cleaning, preparing meals, grooming, and cooking
  • Audit medications during new medication cycles and verify the five rights for accuracy
  • Perform g-tube insertions for feeding individuals
  • Perform colostomy care for individuals
  • Perform intramuscular injections
  • Perform diabetes insulin medication injections for individuals
  • Evaluate residents' and participants' level of consciousness, neurological factors, and responsiveness post-seizure or traumatic episodes
  • Redirect in the event of a behavioral episode and continue to support and listen to individuals' needs
  • Complete and update client notes system on a daily basis, observing and reporting any unusual behaviors or injuries
  • Assess and identify signs and symptoms of infections (early and late signs)
  • Perform basic physical reviews, including checking vital signs and conducting head-to-toe assessments
  • Participate in community outing events with individuals, such as hiking, going to the beach, and other leisure activities
Requirements:
  • 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities
  • Licensed Vocational Nurse License (required)
  • First Aid/CPR and CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certifications
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must have a California Driver's License
  • Candidate must successfully pass all pre-employment requirements, including a background check
