Job Summary:
KTA-Tator, Inc. is a leading materials engineering firm offering a range of services in corrosion protection and asset integrity. We are seeking a part-time Steel Inspector in Reno, NV.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect steel structures and equipment to ensure compliance with industry standards
- Conduct visual inspections and non-destructive testing (NDT) to identify defects and anomalies
- Document findings and report results to management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve inspection-related issues
- Develop and maintain knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current AWS CWI certification
- Bridge fabrication inspection experience preferred
- NDT experience desirable
- PCI certification desirable
- AMPP (NACE) certification desirable
Preferred Qualifications:
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Decision making skills
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver's license
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Office products and ability to navigate the internet
Physical Requirements:
- Close, color, distance, depth vision and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to travel extensively and work outside in various weather conditions
- Climbing, bending, crawling, and working in confined spaces and on uneven terrain
- Ability to lift 25+ lbs.
