Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Water/Wastewater Operator to join our team at the City of Tulsa. As a key member of our water treatment and wastewater management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our water treatment plants and wastewater collection systems.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain water treatment plants and wastewater collection systems to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and optimal water quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment and facilities to prevent downtime and ensure efficient operation.
  • Monitor and control water quality parameters to ensure safe and healthy drinking water for our citizens.
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Participate in training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Valid Oklahoma Class D Driver's license required; Class B CDL with endorsements may be required for some positions.
  • Possession of a valid Oklahoma Class D Water/Wastewater License within nine months of hire.
  • Three months of experience performing heavy manual labor or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Working Conditions

This position requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to chemicals, heavy machinery, and varying weather conditions. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for this role.
