Working closely with the Sales team, the Solutions Engineer promotes our manufacturing capabilities across various business sectors in North America.


This role involves anticipating and resolving technical concerns to enhance sales opportunities and ensure customers receive optimal solutions.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Sales team by conducting discovery sessions to identify business and technical needs that align with Xometry's offerings.
  • Engage with prospects and clients to pinpoint suitable applications of Xometry's technology, crafting compelling business cases and solutions.
  • Showcase Xometry's capabilities, including our advanced software quoting platform.
  • Collaborate with internal teams—product, sales, quoting, and engineering—to provide feedback and develop marketing materials through case studies.
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives by representing the company as an industry expert at events and webinars.

Qualifications:


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong mechanical intuition and knowledge of various manufacturing processes, particularly in injection molding (including plastic injection molding, compression molding, overmolding, insert molding, and metal injection molding), ideally with practical experience.
  • Comfort in engaging in detailed technical discussions with engineers and manufacturing professionals, as well as presenting to diverse audiences, including executives.
  • A consultative approach, emphasizing inquiry to grasp underlying needs.
  • Experience in preparing technical solutions for business proposals.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple long-term projects independently in a dynamic startup environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • A degree in engineering (mechanical preferred) or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an engineering or technical role.
  • Proven project management and presentation capabilities.
  • Experience with CAD software.
  • Expertise in areas such as New Product Development, Materials Science, Plastics Engineering, and Mold Design.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in English.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20%.
