Job Summary:

As a Transportation Specialist with Coweta County Schools, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of students to and from school. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. Key Responsibilities:

⁠ ⁠Start and end bus runs at assigned times every workday, ensuring timely arrival and departure of students.
⁠ ⁠Correctly read and follow assigned routes, adhering to all traffic regulations and school bus safety rules.
⁠ ⁠Pick up and deliver students at assigned times in assigned locations every workday, maintaining a safe and respectful environment.
⁠ ⁠Obey and follow all state of Georgia and Coweta County School System bus safety rules, procedures, and policies, as well as state traffic regulations.
⁠ ⁠Be able to lift and place disabled children in a fire blanket and drag them to the emergency door, demonstrating exceptional physical ability and compassion.
⁠ ⁠Supervise students while loading, riding, and unloading buses, maintaining a high level of vigilance and responsibility.
⁠ ⁠Cooperate with principals, teachers, and parents, fostering strong relationships and open communication.
⁠ ⁠Cooperate with and maintain a good relationship with all other school system employees, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
⁠ ⁠Familiarize and effect compliance with Coweta County Public School Driver's Manual, staying up-to-date with all relevant policies and procedures.
⁠ ⁠Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Transportation, and/or transportation personnel, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Requirements:

⁠ ⁠High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred, with a valid commercial driver's license and a clean driving record.
⁠ ⁠Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more, with excellent physical stamina and endurance.
⁠ ⁠Good communication skills, with the ability to read road maps of various designs and follow oral and written instructions quickly and accurately.
⁠ ⁠Ability to satisfactorily complete the school system driver training course, with a strong commitment to safety and compliance.
