Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Beacon Health System. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing primary care services to patients in a clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and deliver primary health care and wellness care to patients.
  • Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients.
  • Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
  • Perform a complete physical exam and record findings.
  • Manage acute and chronic medical needs of patients.
  • Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures.
  • Synthesize data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan.
  • Administer, dispense, and prescribe medications and injections.
  • Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention.
  • Instruct patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
  • Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information.
  • Triaging patient telephone calls and providing consultation.
  • Provide monitoring and continuity of care as appropriate between visits.
Requirements
  • Master's of Science Degree in Nursing.
  • Valid and current RN license in the state of Indiana.
  • Successful completion of a nurse practitioner program with applicable national certification.
  • Two years of clinical nursing experience in practice area and successful completion of a Nurse Practitioner six month internship for new graduates or comparable experience.
  • Attainment of prescriptive authority or successful completion of applicable course work and pass state board exam to obtain prescriptive authority within six months of hire date.
Working Conditions

The successful candidate will work in a clinic environment requiring physical exertion, frequent changes in job demands, certain undesirable patient care activities, and exposure to biohazards.

Physical Demands

The position requires the physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position, including walking/standing for prolonged periods, pushing carts/wheelchairs, lifting at least 50 pounds, and providing CPR.
