About the Role

Blue Signal is seeking a seasoned MEP Vice President to lead our team of engineers and designers in delivering exceptional MEP solutions to our clients. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for directing and supervising the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) components across multiple projects, ensuring their successful execution while maintaining stringent quality standards, safety protocols, and adherence to project schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Collaborate with stakeholders, architects, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and goals.
  • MEP Project Planning: Develop and integrate MEP project plans and systems, schedules, and budgets to ensure successful execution with other engineers and project teams into overall building design.
  • Design Review and Approval: Review, prepare, and assess MEP design proposals, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and manage MEP staff during construction, ensuring adherence to approved plans, specifications, and safety guidelines.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise in MEP engineering disciplines to support design efforts and validate design concepts through engineering analysis and simulations.
  • Quality Control: Establish and enforce quality control measures for MEP design, conduct audits to verify compliance, and monitor project budgets to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of MEP engineers and designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients to provide project updates, address concerns, and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Business Development: Cultivate strong client relationships and collaborate with business development teams to identify potential clients and secure new engineering projects.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay up to date with relevant engineering codes, regulations, and industry best practices, ensuring project compliance and driving innovation and continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Experience: 15+ years of experience managing MEP projects in the construction industry.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineering (PE) license required; advanced certificates a plus (e.g., LEED, CEM, PMP).
  • Skills: Proficiency in MEP design software and project management tools, strong knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards, excellent leadership, communication, and collaboration skills with strong problem-solving abilities and capacity to handle multiple projects.
  • Business Acumen: Business acumen and contribution to business development efforts.
