We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Universal Banker Trainee to join our team at Midland States Bank. As a key member of our banking operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our diverse clientele, handling cash and checks, and assisting with deposit account openings and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities- Provide accurate and timely customer service, including balancing cash drawers and resolving customer inquiries.
- Process cash and checks, verifying amounts and examining endorsements for possible fraud.
- Assist with deposit account openings and maintenance, including monitoring and coaching provided by senior-level employees.
- Develop sales and product knowledge to achieve personal and team goals, tracking and monitoring sales and opportunities in customer information software.
- Participate in weekly huddles and one-on-one coaching sessions to ensure alignment with team goals and objectives.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years of sales and customer service experience, preferably in a banking or financial services environment.
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish required, with ability to communicate effectively with customers in both languages.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift and transport coin and currency bags as required, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Business insight and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
