Surgical ICU Nurse

OU Health University of Oklahoma Medical Center is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Surgical ICU team.
Job Summary:We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our Surgical ICU. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and develop your skills in critical care nursing.
Responsibilities:- Provide individualized patient care to patients with complex health issues
- Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
- Assist physicians in examining patients and performing minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
- Administer medication as prescribed and initiate, regulate, and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products
- Deliver patient care competently and interact with family and patient to share the care plan during hospital stay and at discharge
- Inform patients and families of hospital procedures and make referrals regarding patient care needs to appropriate personnel
- Delegate tasks to support staff and perform other duties as assigned
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing
- Bachelor of Science (or higher) in Nursing preferred
- Current RN License issued by the state board, or a current multistate compact RN License (eNLC)
- ACLS (American Heart Association) certification
- Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association
- 1 year of experience in ICU nursing
- Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to organize, plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing services and apply nursing techniques
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with other employees
- Ability to respond effectively to cultural and language needs of patients and visitors
