Mammography Technologist Job Description

Mass General Brigham is seeking a skilled Mammography Technologist to join our team on a per diem basis. As a Mammography Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality breast imaging services to our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform mammographic imaging on patients presenting for screening and/or diagnostic service, according to department protocol.
  • Calculate and select proper technical factors; operate equipment as required; properly identify images by verify patient demographics; appropriately annotate images with lead markers denoting laterality.
  • Ensure all images are transmitted to PACS system, and exams are completed in hospital electronic medical record.
  • Provide education to patients regarding exam; provide radiation protection to patients in accordance with ALARA principles and department policy.
  • Assist physicians in performance of invasive procedures: prepare medications such as local anesthetics and/or contrast media; ensure supplies are available for procedure.
  • Instruct, advise, and assist Radiologic Technology students in performing mammographic exams.
Requirements:
  • Must have graduated from an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
  • Must possess a valid Massachusetts license as a Radiologic Technologist in the category of Radiography.
  • Must be registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience as a radiologic technologist.
