About the Role

Newport Healthcare is seeking a skilled Psychiatrist to provide high-quality psychiatric care to residents in our residential treatment program. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating mental health issues in adolescents and young adults.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide routine and emergency assessments, diagnostic clarification, and treatment recommendations for assigned clients.
  • Coordinate care pre-admission and post-discharge, ensuring seamless transitions for clients and their families.
  • Attend weekly Treatment Team Meetings to discuss client progress and develop treatment plans.
  • Document patient encounters through weekly progress notes and other relevant documentation.
  • Collaborate with other treatment team members, including Medical Director, Clinical Director, and outpatient providers.
Requirements
  • Doctorate in Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or psychiatric APRN (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse) required.
  • Board Certified preferred.
  • Experience in child/adolescent and/or adult psychiatry required.
  • Licensed in the State for which you are applying required.
  • Experience in a residential setting preferred.
