About the Role

Microsoft Cloud Operations and Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a highly skilled Category and Strategic Sourcing Manager to join our team. As a key member of our strategic supply chain team, you will be responsible for establishing a supply chain that can meet the ever-growing growth of the Cloud and our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sourcing: Develop and execute sourcing strategies for complex projects and purchasing opportunities to ensure optimal cost and sufficient continuity of supply and/or service.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to policy, educate stakeholders and suppliers on policy compliance, and manage the remediation and resolution of sourcing issues.
  • Procurement and Contracts: Process or support stakeholder procurement requests for complex purchasing categories, execute contracts, and comply with established control processes.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Develop pricing and negotiation strategies, drive early business engagements, and collaborate with suppliers to identify and drive continuous improvement and risk management opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Statistics, or related field AND 8+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, logistics, operations-related roles, or engineering.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of construction experience.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a cross-functional team environment on dynamic large-scale capital and/or hyperscale datacenter programs.
  • 3+ years of experience negotiating master agreements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Quantity Surveying or other related construction qualification AND 10+ years post-graduate experience in construction supply chain and/or construction procurement specifically with large complex capital projects.
  • Commercial understanding and experience of driving and developing key contractual components of categories (General Contractor, Civil Works Contracting, Architect / Engineer, Commissioning, Project Management, Cost Management and other construction services suppliers).
  • Knowledge of Datacenter industry preferable and/or mission-critical experience and experience managing a variety of project delivery methods – ability to collaborate with a project team in defining risk and developing the appropriate contracting and compensation approaches.
