We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Set-up/Master Programmer to join our team at The Gent Machine Company.

Job Summary:

The CNC Set-up/Master Programmer will be responsible for setting up jobs on CNC machines, repairing problems that operators cannot fix, operating the CNC machines, gaging parts, and maintaining a clean work area. This role requires strong programming skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a safety-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Program CNC machines to complete writing of new programs
  • Set up jobs on CNC machines, ensuring accurate and efficient operation
  • Repair CNC machines and assist operators with repairs, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal performance
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and documentation
  • Operate and maintain CNC equipment, performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting as needed
  • Inspect parts to ensure compliance with print specifications, identifying and addressing any defects or issues
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including mopping and other housekeeping tasks
  • Perform various maintenance activities, including lubrication, cleaning, and inspection of CNC equipment
Requirements:
  • 6+ years of experience in CNC setup and programming
  • Ability to long-hand program parts from blueprints
  • Understanding of speeds and feeds with different tools
  • Ability to read non-digital micrometers and blueprints
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on ensuring parts meet print specifications
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Basic mathematics skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division; trigonometry is a plus
Physical Demands:
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk on oily surfaces
  • Moving material routinely
  • Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
